*Warning: this might make you cry :)*
Here it is, I wrote it while I was trying fall asleep last night. I have know idea where the story came from or why I would write something like this, but I did =P
So here it is:
Vapor – by Tim Wood
There once was a man who was very busy,
he looked quite confused and rather dizzy.
With a black suit and a dark red tie,
he was surely a working guy.
His wife was cooking at the home,
he stayed at work; she ate alone.
“Important meetings must be attended!”
Some relationships should be mended.
When he came home later that night,
he always found a familiar sight.
He heard no noise, not even a peep,
for his whole family was sound asleep.
He woke up early: time for work again,
his family woke up later, but he never saw them.
It was just an average day as it seems,
but it turns out to be the worst of his dreams.
Always working, never play,
he had always lived this way.
His family always missed him so,
but off to work he had to go.
Near 1:00 at his office, there was a message for him,
he pressed a button on the intercom and said, “Send him in.”
A man rushed in and then he said,
“Sir, your wife is nearly dead!”
He rushed to the hospital as fast as he could go,
what happened to his wife? He had to know.
When he arrived he quickly learned,
there was a big fire and his wife had been burned.
He came to her and kneeled by her bed,
then struggled to hear the words that she said.
“I love you,” she whispered, “with all of my heart,
for better or worse, ‘til death do us part.”
“I’m sorry” he said, and then he cried,
for at that moment his wife had just died.
One that white bed is where she laid,
as doctors and nurses rushed to her aid.
This man is now a single-father,
of both his sons and one daughter.
Life is a vapor; it can be blown in the wind.
He’ll never take anyone for granted again.

yeah....thats one sad story. It's supposed to be a song, right?
It started out as a song, but then it kinda turned into a poem =P
wow...i have to say, you really have a gift with poetry. Your poem was really sad but still. When i'm tired and can't go to sleep i either clean my room (depending on if hannah is asleep yet...shhhh) or listen to my ipod, not get a sudden burst of creativity and go write a poem. :)
lol thanks! Yeah, it was pretty sad...
I know, it sounds strange to me to. I mean, It just seems weird for me to write a poem, just because I'm normally so bad at it... Like if I tried to do it again it wouldn't sound right =P
gee...i'm glad i didn't read it at church. xD
lol yeah =P
Hey Tim, I was on your blog and saw your poem....it was wonderful! God has really given you a talent! It almost made me cry when I read it! Good job and keep it up! :-)
Thanks =)
