Friday the 13th, such a lucky day =D

I had so much fun yesterday, it was really a blast!

The day started out with waking up at 5:00 AM in the mourning. Me and my mom were finishing up with packing for the ski trip that we were going on. We finally managed to leave aroung 6:20 AM. Our destination? White Pass!

This is a picture I took of the "sunrise", it was mostly behind clouds so I didn't get much of it =P

We were driving for a long time, listening to tobymac all the way. Three hours, we probably listened to the whole cd at least 4 times!

We got there about 9:15 AM, and then we rented our skis and poles and all that stuff, which took about a half an hour. After getting our lift tickets, we were ready to take on the mountain at 10:00 AM.

My mom and I practiced a little bit on the platter, which is a small hill with a small lift to the top of it. After going on the platter a few times, I thought I needed something a little more chalenging, so I went on the tripple. The tripple is about twice as big as the platter and connects to the platter, so you get to ski from one straight to the other. It was then that I realized that I needed more practice. I wiped out. I flew over the my skis and landed on my face, I somehow managed to kick myself in the back of my head with the skis at the same time =/

I decided I should practice on the platter a little more, and I did until 10:30 AM, which is when Dana finally got there. Dana and I went up on the tripple and came down just fine, me on skis and him on a snowboard. Then we decided to go to the very top of the mountain. I took some pictures on the way up:

After going up and down the windy mountain a few times, we decided to go have some lunch.

Yay chilli! It was really good =D

After that, we went to the other side where the was no wind. We ventured on the four "bird runs"(they're named after birds, I have no idea why...)

At the bird runs, there is a seperate chair lift. I'm sure it has some curse on it or something, this thing was scary! And it's a tiny chair, it feels like you could fall out really easily. First, it was going up fine, then it suddenly sagged a few feet and we started freaking out. We got up safely, but the next time we went on it, it hit my elbow so hard it feels like it's broken.

On the bird runs, there is a yurt. The yurt is like a tent, except it's more like a building, it's kinda strange. Anyways, we had some apple cider in there, it was good:

My mom and I were completely wiped out by the time the lifts closed. It was 5:00 PM by the time we left. While we were driving we were trying to decide what we wanted to do, it was too late to go to Folk Dancing, we could just go home, or we could see if we could make it to a free orchastra in Olympia. When we got there we found that they were doing something they called "A night at the Movies". I loved it. They performed popular themes from movies, mostly written by John Williams:

2001: A Space Oddesy, Star Wars Main Theme, Star Wars Duel of Fates, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark and some other songs too.

They are all amazing songs, but they are even better played live by an orchestra! It was so funny, when the conductor was introducing their next song, Duel of Fates, a little kid walked up to the staged with a light saber. The six year old said, "I have a Lightsaber". The conductor said, "That's a very cool lightsaber. What is your name?" And the boy responded, "Lucas." Everybody started laughing, it was just too hilarious! Then, the kid said, "You can use my lightsaber to conduct!" And the conductor said, "I would, but I'm afraid I'd kill somebody."

By the time that the orchestra was done playing it was about 9:00 PM. My mom and I decided that we should have a snack on the way home, so we opened up some carbonated water. It wasn't very sugary, so we put sweetener in it and shook it up real good. I decided that was a bad idea once I opened, it fizzed all over =P

Over all, Friday the 13th was a great day =D
